Our friends from GBSS have made some lovely artwork during the last 12 weeks and they are excitd about putting it on display. Please join them in celebrating their work with their tutors, Patena Moesker and Louise Jenkins, their carers and family and friends.

Magical Places Fairy Faces
The Ethereal talents of Roz Wilson, painter and Patty Moxham, sculptor will delight visitors from November 11 until January 15.
Stanthorpe 150 Heritage Weekend
One big weekend to celebrate our heritage. Saturday at the Heritage Fair with all the traditional amusements of a country fair plus the Downs explorer steam train. We will re-enact the opening of the line to Stanthorpe which occurred in May 1881 and the Stanthorpe band will add to the joyous celebration.
Then on Sunday, you can experience the ‘Tin Story’ out at the Amiens Legacy Centre which is situated on the old Amiens branch line and contains many important historical displays which tell our story from settlement.
Heritage Market Day
The Heritage Railway Precinct will come alive with a grand community celebration of the Opening of the Rail Line to Stanthorpe in May 1881. There will be a downs Steam Train arriving, pipe band and lots of market stalls and attractions. The public is invited to dress up in 1880’s style to get into the spirit of the event.
Drawing Basics Classes
Karen McCann from Tindarra Fine Arts will hold 3 hour drawing basics classes at Artworks on four days in February and march 2022.
Each class costs $30 with all materials supplied. Numbers are limited to six per class

An Art-Y-Ful Selection
Anita Stevens has an extensive repertoire of art practice encompassing many mediums. This Summer exhibition promises to present just a selection of her works for the public to enjoy. Her companion artist will be Jayne Barrett who has explored print-making, collage and other mediums to produce an engaging series just for this exhibition.
Tuesday Art Starters
Art Starters is a friendly group who get together each week to learn and share ideas about art making. We donate $2 to Artworks for use of the room and sometimes we even have a barista coffee which will cost another $2. when we think of it we bake something to share. Everyone is welcome. The Granite Belt in Focus | Sandra McEwan, Maryke Miller
Sandra McEwan seeks out typical scenes and views across the Granite Belt that inspire. Her work is evocative of the past with many featuring decaying structures and historical modes of transport.

Our Annual General Meeting will take place at 5pm on October 16 at the function room of the Stanthorpe RSL Club.
Everyone is welcome to come along and share the celebration and welcome the incoming committee. Some exciting news and thanks to our supporters in the community , then a bit of a party.

Larrikins on the Loose
Larrikins on the Loose displays the varied talents of a group of Stanthorpe Artists who meet regularly to share their artistic experiences. The group is responsible for many of the Public Art and murals around the town centre and at the Showgrounds where they work together every Monday. Many of their group are also involved at Artworks and their leader, Laurie Astill was Artworks’ first President.
The exhibition is situated in the Ann-Marie O’Callaghan Gallery at Artworks, named in memory of one of the original Laurie’s Larrikins team.
